Dixie Chicks again stand in controversy for ‘Shut up & Sing’ ad

The Dixie Chicks are once again dragged into controversy relating over the limits of opinionated talk. Recently it is reported that NBC has refused to accept an advertisement for ‘Shut up & Sing’ movie. This movie is based on the controversy triggered by Dixie Chick Natalie Maine’s contentious comment that she was ashamed President Bush was a fellow Texan. However, many analysts feel that the complaint is just a publicity stunt.

The movie is scheduled to be premiered this weekend in New York and Los Angeles and the affiliate networks are vigorously running ads for its promotion.

The distributor of the movie, Weinstein Co. has reportedly clarified that CBS has agreed to air the ad whereas ABC and Fox has not given their decision yet. On the other hand, CW and NBC have out rightly rejected the ad and NBC has made complaint for the reason that it has criticized President Bush.
