Cybersquatters and typosquatters are increasingly thriving on the practices of getting domain name registered similar to that of other famous sites. Moreover, they are making money illegally and the business and consumers are on the receiving end, as they have to pay price for it.
However, these practices are not new yet around this moment the menacing practice has seemed to be peaking as moneymaking channel fuelled by pay-per-click advertising made quite profitable and lucrative by Google Inc. and others.
In a bid to combat this nuisance, Microsoft has decided to launch an enforcement campaign followed by several law suites to curb down the cybersquatters and typosquatters. These alleged offenders are getting richer every passing day through profit from the online ads by misusing intellectual property and Internet domain names.
