HBO has produced a blog, supposedly written by a vampire, to promote its vampire series “True Blood”. But this blog has created dissonant voices from some corners, as it is difficult for the readers to differentiate the real posts and ads.
âBloody copyâ is embedded within the popular Gawker Web site and made to look just like it â with no indication that it’s paid advertising copy. Anyway, Gawker has added a small disclaimer at the bottom of the fake “Bloodcopy” blog- “Bloodcopy is a sponsored partnership between HBO, Campfire and Gawker Media.”
Barring such issues, this move is an effective strategy to promote ââTrue bloodââ, as it truly interacts with the readers.
