This is a counter advertisement by a group of Christian leaders, which has been slammed by the gay community. The ad was placed in the newspapers that accuses the government taking away ‘freedom of conscience’ through the latest Sexual Orientation Regulations. The ASA has already received at least 15 complaints so far regarding the ad.
The ad proclaims that nothing in these regulations shall force an individual to act against their conscience or strongly held religious beliefs.
Further the advertisement has claimed that the law, which is scheduled to be implemented in Northern Ireland in the New Year and by April in rest of the U.K., is an act against freedom of conscience. The advertisement is likely to be scrutinized by the advertisement watchdog.
