The Wall Street Journal has recorded a 5.7 percent rise in advertising revenue in the month of October following 1.8 percentage growths in advertising volume. Sliding advertisement revenue might have been a major concern at WSJ largely owing to the fact that there was lower financial and technology advertising. On the other hand, its international revenue witnessed a phenomenal rise of 16.6 percent.

As a matter of fact, WSJ’s decision to introduce strong color advertising has contributed to this exceptional rise in WSJ’s Asia and Europe editions.

In September WSJ’s advertisement revenue had declined drastically since ad sales took a down turn and slipped by 5.9 percent and the ad volume severely fell by 8.2 percent. However, declining trend in classified ad is still a major concern at WSJ.
