The advertising industry still lacks considerable participation of minorities in the industry despite the problem being imminent since decades. However, now advertising agencies seems to be serious for increasing participation of minorities in the industry. Sixteen ad agencies of New York have recently agreed on the proposition of recruiting more minorities especially blacks. Further, they are also likely to diversify senior management and city officials are likely to keep a watch on the commitment made by the industry.
President of the American Association of Advertising Agencies, Burtch Drake has informed that the advertising agencies have in fact signed written agreements with city’s Human Rights commission to realize fulfill their commitment.
