If you think that all campaigns are depending on ‘truthâ or ‘so called truthâ, the new campaign by Tappening reveals that it is not so always. Tappening, with an effort to encourage consumption of tap water, actually depends on lies and it publicly admits it.
Sounds odd? This is truth. They are encouraging the consumers to tell lies about bottled water. Their website allows users to share their own water-related lies. Four Tappening ads with headlines like “Bottled Water Makes Acid Rain Fall on Playgrounds” and “Bottled Water Causes Blindness in Puppies.”, are also included in the website.
This is an apparent effort to poke fun at the bottled water brands who claim that the water has been taken from pristine mountain streams. However, unlike them, Tappening discloses that its new ads contain false assertions.
