Does Hotmail fear to loose its sheen? When Google mail is marching forward with probably the largest user base in the last 10-12 months, Microsoft is still in a fix about how to prevent alienating existing users with an overdose of ads. The Hotmail redesigning dilemma now boils down into one major question, one big ad or two ads?

The ad placement is critical to Microsoft who badly wants to get back its million of email users. After all there lies Microsoft’s future customer base. More ads mean company may lose out the already fickle customers and get rid of the second ad means going flat with the revenue model.

Microsoft has been working with the new Hotmail idea for long, but things never moved till the time Google delivers its Gmail on 2004 April Fool’s Day.
