Will Google enter the e-book market, which is now dominated by Amazone.com? Well, report indicates that during the annual BookExpo convention in New York Google has expressed interest in introducing a program that enables publishers to sell digital versions of their newest books direct to consumers.

This will be good news for publishers as Google has said that it would allow them to set a suggested list price. Presently, Amazon , with its Kindle reading device, is dominating the market for e-books with its aggressive pricing strategy. Amazon offers Kindle editions of most new best-sellers for $9.99, a price far lower than the typical $26 at which publishers sell new hardcovers.

If everything goes right, readers can access digital versions of various titles online and even when they are offline, readers would still be able to access their electronic books in cached versions on their browsers.
