Frozen peaz kit is certainly better than the icepack as provides cooling or heating from ample time without losing its shape. Cooling them completely takes around 4 hours in a freezer. Cooling a swelled part for 20 minutes is enough for one time. Similarly, the pack can be heated in a microwave and it is ready for some heat therapy.
