1. Acupressure
Dizziness occurs when the brain gets confused messages due to the reduced blood circulation. For increasing blood circulation to the brain, use acupressure. Keeping the knees bent and pressing gently under the shin bones will increase blood supply to the brain and stop dizziness immediately.
2. Saline spray
Sometimes dizziness is the cause of blocked nasal passages. The mucous that is trapped in the nasal passages due to allergic conditions like cold, sinusitis etc., must be removed to stop the feeling. Take 1/4 teaspoon of salt and add it to a glass of warm water. Use a Neti pot or a nasal dropper for applying the water into the nostrils. Close one nostril and keep the other nostril high up while you put water. You can drain the water through the nostril which is downward facing. Do this twice a day and not more than 3 days to stay away from dizziness due to blocked nose.

Dizziness can be caused when there is reduced brain function due to low blood circulation to the brain. In such cases, a person will feel dizzy and listless. Damage caused in the middle ear, which controls the balance of the body, too can cause dizziness. Ginkgo biloba is a Chinese herb that helps in increasing blood circulation. First lie down with your head in a position lower than your heart. This will increase the blood circulation to the brain and reduce your symptoms immediately. Now, you can drink plenty of water and take ginkgo biloba extract twice a day. This helps in increasing nervous as well as brain function. Make sure that you seek the advice of a herbal practitioner while taking ginkgo biloba.
4. Cold compress
Cold compress is good when you have fever, heat stroke etc. If you feel dizzy due to overheating of the body and have high temperature, do not move around. Lie down so that the circulation to the brain increases. Now, a family member can help by placing a soft cloth dipped in cold water on your neck, forehead etc., and for wiping all over the body in case of high fever. Continue several times a day with 10 minutes for each session. This will help with the high temperature and reduce the fever and dizziness.
5. Water
Water is the first and foremost solution that clicks in our mind when we feel dizzy. Drinking water removes dizziness due to dehydration fever, overheating of body and thirst. When you feel dizzy, be seated and drink plenty of cold water and lie down for a few minutes. This will take care of the problem.
6. Peppermint
A naturally occurring cooling agent, peppermint can be used for treating fever, heatstroke, etc. Chewing on mint leaves will help in cooling your body that has heated up. Chew on mint leaves several times a day to keep the body cool and fresh. Peppermint can be carried along if you have a sensitivity to heat and feel dizzy.
7. Ginger
Ginger is a great remedy for dizziness that sets in due to cough, cold, indigestion, fever, reduced blood circulation, etc. Sometimes dizziness can be caused in pregnant women as a result of frequent episodes of nausea and vomiting. For all these, take a piece of ginger root and chew on it. This will suppress the nausea and treat common ailments that cause dizziness as well.
