Very Often you have seen that surgical operations are performed at operation theatre in a hospital. But how surprising it may be, if surgery to be made in space. You may be flabbergasted on my saying. It’s not a joke but it’s true to my information.
A team of French doctors are to perform first human operation in zero-gravity to work on a surgery. The operation to be done on a new plane named ‘Zero-G’ built by Europe to encourage gravity-free conditions.
Three surgeons, two anaesthetists and a team of army parachutists may work inside the plane to remove a fatty tumor from the forearm of a gallant volunteer within a three-hour flight course. Moreover, smaller surgical tools with magnets are to be used for operating purpose.
There may be lots of questions striking on your mind. Of the highest, a risk factor may be there whether the operation guarantees the successful treatment of operation.
Other factors like proper equipments arrangements, safety of plane, surgeon’s concentration in operation during the course of flight and their safer return to the earth etc create confusion in our minds.
Whatever be the outcome, let’s hope and pray for their success and safer return to earth. This may be a first unique surgical operation to be done on space at zero-gravity, due to the stepping of advanced technology and man’s urge for extraordinary experimentations.
