Vaccination at early age protects girls from cancer

An influential federal Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices in the United States has recommended about a vaccine to protect 11-12 years old girls against cervical cancer caused by sexually transmitted virus.

The vaccines will be effective for girls before they become sexually active. The committee has recommended vaccinating the girls of age nine as per their doctors’ direction.

Health agencies as well as insurance companies should go forward in this direction to decrease girls’ risk for cervical cancer.
