CO poisoning increases death risk in heart patients

Air pollution is posing great health risks to people worldwide. Especially Carbon monoxide poisoning has been proved as major risk factor for people. People who are suffering from heart injuries are at the higher death risk if they are the patients of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Weakness, queasiness, giddiness, exhaustion, perplexity and headache are the major symptoms of Symptoms of CO poisoning. According to the neurological experts, heart damage also reports in carbon monoxide poisoning cases sometimes.

Christopher R. Henry of the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation and other researchers concluded a study to asses the link between the patients’ heart damage because of carbon monoxide poisoning and long-term risk of death.

The increased levels of cardiac troponin I or creatine kinase-MB, and changes in diagnostic electrocardiogram ( ECG ) may damage the heart muscles.

The myocardial injury test is necessary for the patients of suspecting CO poisoning. Cardiovascular risk stratification is also a major part of test after confirmed myocardial injury because these patients may have long-term outcome.
