Spinal cord stimulation helps Hemodialysis patients

Hemodialysis patients, having poor circulation in their legs, reduce pain with the help of spinal cord stimulation. Dr. Mario Bonomini says that by implanting a spinal cord stimulation device, in patients of renal disease and ruthlessly weakened blood flow, in lower limbs, may holdup the emergence of skin abrasions and subtraction.

After one-year study on eight hemodialysis patients with renal failure and lower-limb ischemia, the researchers found no impediments with the use of stimulation device. The patients’ intensity of pain and eminence of life enhanced significantly. The pain medication was also decreased.

On the other hand, skin lacerations were not improved. However, no new laceration developed during the study period. Further, the researchers concluded that spinal cord stimulation perks up the quality of life and pain relief spectacularly.
