Skin care is essential for all ages though, but it is especially important for teenage girls, as teen is the age when the above-mentioned skin problems appear a lot.

Educate yourself regarding your skin type

This is the foremost and the most basic step towards making your teenage skin look flawless and healthy. After knowing your skin type, you can analyze what products you must use and which ones to avoid.

Do not just fall for a skin product just because they show it maximum number of times on television, or your friend uses it. Rather use the correct knowledge and shortlist products that are strictly meant for your skin type and complexion.

Watch what you eat

Acne breakouts, blackheads and other teen skin problems are caused by pollution, hormones, and by the food that they eat. There are certain foods that cause inflammation, teens get pimples that look red and inflamed, and probably they are a caused by those foods that cause inflammation.

Majority of teens have a penchant for fast food items ranging from pizzas, hot dogs, burgers, French fries, to what not. All these foods do a lot of damage to skim, so try to refrain from such foods and choose healthier alternatives. All the aerated drinks are also too bad for skin, so choose natural juices.

Teenagers must analyze and differentiate foods that cause inflammation from the foods that cure inflammation, and then consume them accordingly. For instance, meats with nitrates, foods having refined sugars, and excessive dairy products consumption aggravates skin inflammation. Go for fresh and natural foods.

Cleanliness is must

Many studies say that most of the teenagers neglect personal hygiene. Well, this bad because teenage is one of the most crucial times in a human’s life; it’s when hormones play tricks, body changes, and teenagers donate much of their time to exercise and playing. All these activities leave them drenched in sweat, skin oily and dirty. If not more, they need to take a bath at least once a day, and wash their face for a minimum of two times a day.

After sports activity, or a dancing class, teenagers must wash their face. They should use a mild cleanser or a face wash that takes away all the dirt and bacteria off the skin, but never use soap on your face because it is too harsh for the sensitive face skin. Use warm water to wash face, the cold and hot water is not good for the facial skin pores.

Hydrate and moisturize

Wash your face a couple of times during the day with plain water, and drink lots of water daily to hydrate your skin. Then comes the moisturizing for which you need to choose appropriate moisturizer depending upon your skin type, as in not too oily if you have oily skin and vice versa.
