Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic disease. The swelling of the lining of joints cause enduring joint damage in this disease. That results in chronic pain and disability.
The study on Rheumatoid arthritis was presented at the 2006 European league against rheumatism congress in Amsterdam.
Almost one-third of patients of rheumatoid arthritis said about it’s harmful effect on their sex lives.
Thirty-one percent of RA patients said that the disease had no any impact on sexual lives.
Another thirty-eight percent had confirmed it’s little impact on their sexual health.
Twenty-one percent patients of RA had confirmed that their present condition had large impact on their sex lives.
The remaining ten percent had said that because of Rheumatoid arthritis they are unable to perform sexual activities. The disease compared to women mostly affected men’s sexual acts.
