Post-workout milk for maximum muscles and fat burn

post workout milk
If you are planning to get maximum muscles while trying to keep body fat at its lowest level, then drinking a glass of milk won’t be a bad idea.

This view gets fuelled up after results form a study show that exercisers who consumed milk after their workouts, gained more muscles while losing more fats than those consuming sports drinks after their workouts.

Perceiving reason behind such a come out, experts opine that may be it is because milk carries higher level of high quality protein, while sports drinks contain either its nominal level or no level at all. Here it is worth mentioning that human metabolism absorb animal protein (that also includes milk protein) in a much better way, therefore, it seems that this very factor also plays a crucial role in such a come out.

Before coming out with these findings, researchers tracked around 56 men between the ages, 18 to 30. All these 56 men were divided into three groups while they underwent a rigorous five-day-a-week weightlifting program over a 12-week period. During this period, one group drank about two cups of skim milk, containing 17.5 grams of protein, 25.7 grams of carbohydrates and 0.4 grams of fat. Second group received a soy drink, containing identical ratios of nutrients, and the third group got sports drink. Interestingly, all the three beverages contained similar level of calories i.e.735.

Finally, it was concluded that all these participants gained muscle mass and lost fat. However, this equation came slightly higher for the milk-drinking group.

After looking at the whole scenario in the light of this study, it could be asserted that in order to gain maximum muscle mass with low level of body fat, taking milk as post-workout drink would be the best option. Rhyming with the similar view, Stuart Phillips, an associate professor of kinesiology at McMaster University in Hamilton and lead author of the study remarks:

A glass of cold milk is refreshing, it rehydrates you and it helps restore muscle. It’s also the source of nine essential nutrients so you get everything in one convenient package.
