Beware of dogs. If you are a dog owner, you are at a higher risk to develop breast cancer. According to the researchers at University of Munich, there is a potential link between pet dogs and the human breast cancer. They said further that dogs are possible carrier of viruses and bacteria that causes breast cancer.
According to the researchers, dogs may contract mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV) from mice. Further, MMTV causes breast cancer in mice. In the human breast cancer, MMTV-like sequences have been detected most of the times.
Elsevier’s ‘Medical Hypotheses’ has published the research. However, the charity ‘Breakthrough Breast Cancer’ has said that there is no any firm scientific basis of this research.
