Encourage condom use to avoid HPV infection

Condoms reduce the risk of human papilloma virus (HPV) infection in young sexually active women. HPV causes cervical cancer among the young women. However, the condoms do not provide complete protection from the risk to develop cervical cancer.

Rachel Winer, lead author of a study has provided the detail of the study that is published in the New England Journal of Medicine. It said that the other precautionary procedures to avoid cervical cancer are still having much importance.

Experts say that however, abstinence gives complete protection but condoms considerably decreases viral transmission too. On the other hand, some studies showed that condom does not reduce the risk of HPV infection in men.
