‘Medicine Sans Fronteire’ or ‘doctors without borders’ has warned about the pneumonic plague outburst in Northern DR Congo. They did conform twenty-two deaths. Moreover, 144-suspected cases have been identified until yet. They expect more deaths if the precautionary measures not taken on right time.
Twelve health zones with a total population of almost 100’000 have been affected by the plague outbreak. Bubonic plague is endemic in this region of DR Congo
MSF is working for proper treatment and monitoring to reduce mortality rate and preventive measures to restrict this airborne disease to larger mass.
