NHS workers rally in Parliament

About 1000 NHS staff are agitated at Westminster because of the ongoing staff reduction in their wards. The uniformed nurses, midwives, porters, cleaners, cooks and some other workers gathered in Parliament. They were saying that NHS reduction of staff has resulted in delayed operations, closed hospital wards and less jobs.

Several hundred nurses jammed the Central Hall and campaigned with the posters of ‘keep the NHS working’.

13,000 NHS posts are selected for abolition in the last six months. Beverly Malone, of the Royal College of Nursing said that the campaigning was not anti-Government but pro-patient. The other workers of NHS trusts across the country joined the protest.

A series of community hospitals are being closed. About 500 jobs may be lost and it will cause the £38million deficit.
