Glucose meters read glucose levels from as low as zero to as high as 600 mg/dL. Here are some tips to understand several features of glucose meters. Though the features vary from meter to meter but in general they are same.
1) Interpret high or low values of glucose with awareness.
2) All portable blood glucose meters measure the amount of glucose in whole blood. Just know whether your meter gives its results as ‘whole blood equivalent’ or ‘plasma equivalent.’
3) Clean your meter using a soft cloth only or go to the manufacturers.
4) Learn operating a meter and its display of high and low glucose concentrations.
