Indian Parantha exceeds junk food when it comes to harm health

Junk food like burger, pizza, hot dogs, has already become too notorious for playing havoc with people’s health but perhaps a few people know that Indian food like parantha, chana bhutara, samosa is doing greater harm than western junk food.

According to experts, while the trans-fatty acids (hydrogenated oils and fats) in French fries (per 100 gm) are 4.2%-6.1%, it is 9.5% in bhatura, 7.8% in paratha and 7.6% each in puri and tikkis. It shows that threat from Trans fats is also hovering over Indians in the same way as over the people in the west. More worrying is the fact that this Trans fats-stuffed food is gradually becoming a part of Indians’ day-to-day meal.

Quite a worrying issue it is; therefore, I strongly believe that health experts should spread awareness among people about the possible threats of eating Trans fat stuffed food.In addition, they should learn a lesson from the recent actions taken to curb trans fats’ use. Find out here:-
