The grapefruit diet is an eating plan that promoted rapid weight loss by using the grapefruit as a powerful fat burner.

As in the cabbage diet it promises amazing results. In just 12 days you can lose up to 10 pounds.

What to eat ?

The grapefruit diet has been around since 1930 as people believed is a healthy way to burn some fat.
The ground rules of this diet are simple. You are not allowed to eat more than 800-1000 calories per day.
Carbohydrates and sweets are a serious no-no.

So, what can you eat ? Well, basically meat is of the essence in this diet, either you choose to eat poultry, red meat, fish or seafood. You can cook it however you like, but whatever you do eat before every meal a half of grapefruit with a 0-calories sweetener, including the white skin as that’s healthy too.

The star beverage allowed is water, which you can combine with a cup of black coffee each day.

The grapefruit diet is based on limiting the calories intake to 800-100.
Grapefruit is not a magical fruit that supports weight loss, but it might add some vitamins and antioxidants to your system. Unfortunately studies have shown there is no connection between losing extra weight and eating a half of grapefruit before every meal.

Grapefruit simply remains a very nutritious low-calorie fruit that has a lot of vitamin C and fiber.


What experts say about the grapefruit diet

It’s better that you don’t look for long lasting results with the grapefruit diet. A weight loss program should be a long-term commitment in which food and sport are the most important factors.

If you like to eat grapefruit we advise you to eat it, before or after a meal, but don’t expect magical results by only doing this. No fruit or vegetable has been proven to be a fat burner. So, concentrate of the please of the taste and not on the results in this case.
