Family history of gallstones, body weight and gender are a few pf the risks factors that help in the process of gallstones formation. Women are twice as likely as men to develop gallstones. Diets that are high in fat and cholesterol and low in fiber appear to play a role. If you are overweight or obese, try to lose unneeded weight, but do it gradually.

Foods to avoid:

  • Avoid (as much as you can) all artificial sweeteners, sugar, preservatives, refined and bleached foods.
  • Avoid smoking because it can aggravate the symptoms.
  • Avoid eggs, research showed that in up to 95 percent of patients they have caused the symptoms.
  • Avoid pork, fowl (turkey, chicken), dairy, gluten, grains, nuts, margarine, fried foods, chocolate, ice cream, cabbage.
  • You should also be careful to what you drink. Avoid: coffee, black tea, all kinds of alcohol, fruit juice, carbonated water, colas and all sodas.
  • It’s very essential to never over eat anything, to not eat late and to not eat when stressed.

Foods that help with gallbladder disease:

  • Foods that should help with gallbladder disease are organic and locally foods. These foods are very good raw or lightly steamed.
  • Do not cook flax oil. You may use it in dressing a salad and should be used with lemon juice or vinegar.
  • Don’t forget to add together some good fats too
  • Eat: beets, cucumbers, green beans, sweet potatoes, vinegars, garlic, onions,
    tomatoes, cold water fish.
  • Vegetables, guar gum, fiber found in fruits are good as well.
