Drinking coffee may reduce risk of cirrhosis

Alcohol causes the risk of cirrhosis of the liver. A new finding says that drinking coffee reduces the risk of cirrhosis. At the same time, medical experts say that drinking coffee for only this reason is not ok.

Dr. Arthur Klatsky and other researchers at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program in Oakland, California have concluded the research following a vast study of the data of 125,580 people.

The Archives of Internal Medicine has published the study. It says that there is a component in coffee, which prevents against cirrhosis of the liver. The researchers disclosed further, that they are unaware about the details of that key component of coffee that works especially against alcoholic cirrhosis.
