Does Prayer Really Heal ?

Do you remember how in the New Testament Jesus asked the people to lay hands on the sick and pray for them? To the utter amazement of believers in the healing power of prayers it was discovered recently that ”distant” or ”intercessory” prayer for the sick serves no purpose.

A new study team led by John Templeton Foundation studied 1,802 bypass patients and revealed that praying for the sick is not really effective as 59 percent of those prayed for still experienced complications like the ones not prayed for.

But one thing that still confused the researchers was the increased heartbeat seen among those ones who were aware that they were being prayed for. So there still is a ray of hope. There is no reason yet to stop praying.
