Diabetic diet plan

Medical science has not yet come up with any cure for diabetes. Diabetes proves to be a life threatening disease for some people whereas other diabetic patients are able to live a healthy lifestyle. Diabetes can be controlled if not cured. The only way to control diabetes is to have an appropriate diet. The diet for diabetics is called Diabetic Diet.

Diabetic Diet Plan

The meal plan for Type 1 and Type 2 diabetics is different. Type 1 diabetics need to keep a daily check on the foods to consume to pair it up with the insulin. On the other hand, Type 2 diabetics need to reduce weight.

Type 1 Diabetic Diet Plan

Patients need to have a Diabetic Diet Plan that provides right number of carbs and proteins. Heart diseases, high blood pressure and kidney failure are often associated with Type 1 diabetes. Foods that are low in sugar, cholesterol, sodium and fats are ideal for such patients. Have a mix of foods that are rich in fiber such as fruits and green leafy vegetables.

Type 2 Diabetic Diet Plan

The diet plan for Type 2 diabetics is designed to reduce the weight. For this purpose, fiber rich foods, Omega 3 containing foods, carbohydrates and healthy fats containing foods can be included in the diet plan. Meals containing high levels of cholesterol, sodium and fats should be ignored.

Diabetic patients are recommended to eat in small quantities. The patient's body is able to control glucose levels if the body receives food in low quantity.
