Deodorants May Increase Your Breast Cancer Risk

Most of us have built the habit of using underarm deodorants during the summers. True, it keeps you safe. But, do you know that its continuous usage could increase a risk of breast cancer in women?

All these deos available in the market, contains metals including aluminum salts and cadmium. And it has recently been shown to exert estrogen-like effects, with some also promoting the growth of breast cancer cells in the laboratory!

This is found by Dr. Philippa D. Darby of the University of Reading in the UK, who notes these in the Journal of Applied Toxicology. That aluminum salts increase estrogen-related gene expression in human breast cancer cells grown in the laboratory, Darby’s own research has shown.
