Cholestrol diet: Changing perspectives of fat-free diet

A healthy cholesterol diet is vital in keeping heart diseases at bay. No need to panic, it is not adding to cholesterol or encouraging the obese to eat more cheese-n-ham burgers. On the contrary, it is gorging on fresh fruits, whole food grains and vegetables. So where’s all the fat gone? It is well stored in healthy fats like fish and one should have fish three to four times a week. Our body has natural cholesterol deposits which are generated as per body’s requirements; we don’t have to take extra measures by nibbling sausages and salamis.

Therefore, a cholesterol diet is all about cutting down on high-cal food and leading a stress-free life – stress is the main culprit in elevating cholesterol levels in blood. Apart from eliminating fat foods, the cholesterol diet also demands a change in lifestyle by eliminating smoking and drinking alcohol. This is what the docs recommend, but patients don’t bother to listen until it is hyped as a diet.
