Now you can eat chocolate considering it a brain-tonic too because a new study has dubbed chocolate, made of a specially formulated type of cocoa containing flavanols, helpful in boosting brain function and help delay aging process.

Researchers uncovered these findings after they conducted a small brain imaging study on young, healthy women to see whether flavanol-rich cocoa helped boost cognitive function during challenging mental tasks.

Interestingly, where previous studies had found flavanols helpful in maintaining good cardiovascular health the latest study has dubbed it prolific for maintaining better cognitive functioning.

Interestingly, this test didn’t show precisely that eating rlavanol-rich cocoa helped them in performing better in the test. However, it was found helpful in improving blood flow to their brains. Taking note of this improved blood flow, researchers are now planning to drag this research further since they believe that it could help finding better solution to benefit older adults and those who have cognitive impairments, such as fatigue or even mini-strokes. It is important to note here that some previous studies, focused on chocolate’s effect on health, had also uncovered many benefits of eating chocolate. Here is a briefing:
