Cancer-causing STD rising among girls aged 16!

one in 10 girls has std linked to cancer by 16

Of the sexually transmitted infections, HPV (human papilloma virus) is believed to be the most common. And, with most sexually active persons getting at least one HPV infection, it is unfortunate that most live with it without ever knowing – as the disease cause no symptoms at all.

At any time, about 20 million to 40 million Americans are infected with sexually transmitted types of HPV, which is only worsening with its appearance rising constantly.

But, a new study has come up with shocking figures that at least one in 10 teenage girls carries a sexually-transmitted disease!

And the risk rises ‘substantially’ after the age of 14 – shockingly 2 years before they can ‘legally’ have sex.

But, what is more worrisome is the disease’s developing into cancer, which can not only cause cancer, but also develop pre-cancerous changes, especially cervical cancer later in life.

Cervical cancer, which is estimated to kill as many as 3,670 in 2007 in the United States alone, kills more than 1,000 middle-aged women in Britain every year!

But, what can save these young girls from the fatal sexually-transmitted disease is a vaccine that should be administered to be girls before their puberty to make it effective.

Hope, a government effort on such a vaccination can help prevent the disease-causing percentage’s rise beyond 21 per cent.
