Men over 30 have low libido

low sex drive

According to a recent study by the New England Research Institute, one out of four men over 30 are not interested in sex! Gosh, this is bad news indeed.

Thankfully there is some good news that only one out of 20 men surveyed showed any clinical symptoms linked to low testosterone levels.

Unfortunately as men age, they experience symptoms of erectile dysfunction and lack of libido due to low levels of testosterone. Low testosterone is classified as 300ng/dL (nanograms per deciliter) of total testosterone and less than 5 ng/dL of free testosterone.

Low testosterone can indicate an androgen deficiency, especially if it is accompanied by low sex drive, erectile dysfunction, fracture or osteoporosis, and two or more of the following: sleep disturbance, depressed mood, lethargy or diminished physical performance.

Lead author Andre B. Araujo, says,

low levels of testosterone impact many aspects of male physiology. This is particularly significant because the ongoing aging of the U.S. male population is likely to cause the number of men suffering from androgen deficiency to increase appreciably.

Some of the possible causes of low libido are lack of sleep, smoking, long hours of work, too much alcohol, smoking, and last but not the least suboptimal amounts of testosterone in the body.

Do you know even if a couple has mental compatibility, lack of sexual intimacy can completely destroy the relationship?

So, please ladies, if you are dating a man over 30, be sure to check out the sex drive of your partner. After all you wouldn’t want to be saddled with a man who isn’t interested in a sexual relationship with you.
