Virgin Atlantic is going to introduce ‘Tempus’ onto its Airplanes. Tempus is the telemedicine device for the use by non-medical experts for remote medical emergency. Although it has used the MedLink remote doctor service on board, for many years.
Tempus, with the help of satellite technology, transmits medical information including video images to the ground-based medical experts. They can diagnose the problem and advise the crew to take some measures necessary for the patients.
