Top 10 death-causing diseases

Researchers at the University of Queensland’s School of Population Health in Brisbane, Australia, have gathered thousands of data sources from all over the world on 136 diseases and injuries in 2001. It revealed many of unexposed data and figures in this report. The study was published in ‘The Lancet.’

The study disclosed that one-third of total deaths were because of infectious diseases, dietary deficiencies, and health problems in pregnant women, new mothers, fetuses, or newborns. Here are the details of the diseases and deaths because of diseases.

Here are the top 10 death-causing diseases worldwide in 2001:

1. Heart disease

2. Stroke

3. Lung cancer

4. Lower respiratory infections

5. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

6. Colon and rectum cancers

7. Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias

8. Type 2 diabetes

9. Breast cancer

10. Stomach cancer

The study disclosed another list for developing countries also.
