A new formula may help predict Osteoporosis risk amongst Women!

People suffering from osteoporosis are risked highly of bone fractures due to low compression in bones as compared to healthy ones. It affects mostly women after menopause and might also affect men and young ones.

However, there is a good news for women patients as a new formula has been devised by Australian scientists containing a mathematical equation, that predicts the risk of bone fracture with 75 percent accuracy, providing clues for treatment relating to bone diseases.

The formula can help to predict fracture risk based on simple clinical measurements with bone density level in spine and hip, weight, and number of previous fractures, thereby indicating patients to get treatment in order to reduce the disease.

The study need more work to be done, as measuring bone density alone cannot be a perfect indicator of bone fractures in osteoporosis. Further, only women patients get its benefit whereas no provision meant for men patients.

Formula devise can be a worthwhile work and requires further work to develop it in far accurate form by considering other eminent factors helpful in prediction of bone fracture for all patients.
