Could a cream prevent Alzheimer’s disease? The answer is ‘yes’; it could. Actually, work carried out at the Sir James Mc Cusker Foundation for Alzheimer’s Research in Australia has shown that this so-called cream provides a hope of stopping the condition that normally leads to Alzheimer’s disease.
This cream contains the male sex hormone, well known as testosterone, which according to researchers, helps staving off the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease. Preliminary studies, conducted to know its (cream’s) efficacy has shown promising results by revealing that patients who were applied this cream daily for four months, reduced their levels of the destructive beta amyloid protein by around 60 per cent. According to researchers, this cream provides benefits by cutting levels of the destructive protein called, beta amyloid.
Another good thing about this cream is that it is quite simple to use. However, there is one thing that makes this study somewhat dubious as researchers have themselves revealed that they tested the efficacy of this drug only on the healthy men with testosterone deficiency.
Therefore, so long as researchers do not test the efficacy of this drug on patients who have actually developed Alzheimer’s disease, becoming very hopeful about this drug won’t be right.
