cervical cancer vaccine program 64
Schoolgirls, from the age of 12, in South Australia, became the first in the country to receive a free vaccination against cervical cancer as cervical cancer vaccine program began today.

This move by the federal government is being seen as a major step for bringing down the number of deaths, caused by this deadly form of cancer as according to an estimate, more than 200 Australian women die of cervical cancer just in a year.

Government as well as health officials are very sanguine about this new move. Letting out that optimism Health Minister Tony Abbott remarked:

The vaccination had the potential to lower cervical cancer rates in Australia by 70 per cent with 50 years.

This is really a commendable inception by the government. In other words, it could be said that this move by the government would bring down the number of patients, clutched by cervical cancer, as Mr. Abbott hopes:

In the years ahead, we should see a significant reduction in cervical cancer cases.
