Motorola has finally revealed the looks of its new Android wearable called Moto 360. After a long wait, the company has brought its smartwatch into competition with several other fresh products revealed recently by Apple and Samsung. Let us see how it stands in the smartwatch market.

Appearance

Moto 360 is a fashionable and stylish smartwatch with the round face of a regular watch and attractive looks of a modern wearable. Its face has a steel frame that gives it a classic appearance. It also has a brass-ringed side button that you find in regular watches. Its leather strap makes it comfortable to wear. You may also be attracted by its glowing 1.56-inch LCD display that gets better when you swipe or tap on it. Its display has a nice resolution of 320×290 pixels.

However, the display does not cover the entire 360-degree space that gives a slightly emptier look to the bottom area. With a great functionality, its overall appearance is simply amazing. Moto 360 looks unique, innovative and quite different from other smartwatches available in the market.

Performance

This Android smartwatch is equipped with motion sensors that keep a track on your movement and anticipate when you are going to look at your smartwatch. While it consumes extra power from the battery, it also makes your user experience smoother. Moto 360 also performs efficiently when it comes to voice recognition using two built-in microphones. It recognizes voice clearly and accurately. As regards its software, it is pretty much like any other Android wear. The device runs on TI OMAP 3 processor that consumes extra battery. Thus, its battery life is slightly disappointing.

Ease of use

Moto 360 is an easy-to-use lightweight wearable that can be worn for a long time without any problem. Its backlit LCD display makes it easier to be used, even under sunlight. It is also able to handle regular splashes of water, as its display is water-resistant up to a meter. Talking about the battery of Moto 360, you can charge it on a wireless stand in a hassle-free manner. However, it may be difficult to carry the stand always with you.

Usefulness

Motorola’s new smartwatch has some great features that make it highly useful as a smartwatch cum fitness tracker. It also has a heart rate tracker that always remains on to give you information on the health of your heart and activity levels.

Value for money

While Moto 360 has all you want from a good smartwatch, you might find the price just okay. It comes with a tag of $249 that can be high for some new users who want to try out a wearable for the first time.
