Design

If we consider the design factor of the all-new Micromax Unite 2, it is very much like the other Smartphones rolled out by Micromax in the previous times. It has a decent built with a plastic back cover with a rubberized matte finish. It is a thin phone with just an 8mm thickness and is pretty light in weight. It is quite portable as you can slide it into any pocket of yours. The device has a 480 x 800 IPS LCD display resolution, which is quite good but if you compare it with the competitor Moto E, the color reproduction and clarity seems a bit lower in Micromax Unite 2. The device has wide viewing angles and the display is readable in sunlight as well. The device is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor, with an internal memory of 4GB and expandable storage up to 32GB with a microSD card.

Software

The device has customizations that make icons look different for some apps. Certain apps like Phone Dialer, Messaging, etc have certain changes in their UI. The home screen and app drawer is also customized and it sometimes becomes slow in speed when you run some heavy app or game in the background. Out of free 1 GB free RAM, you get approximately 500 MB of it that makes the UI highly responsive to start with, however, it bogs down when the heavy processing starts. As far as the gaming is concerned, the device can play games ranging from casual to heavy graphics with ease.

Performance

Let us start with the camera performance; the 5MP rear camera is a good deal you can get at this price range. It takes high quality pictures both in close up mode and long shots. It can record HD videos, has auto focus and LED flash. Unite 2 also has a 2 MP fixed focus front camera, which makes this device an ultimate performer in the photography department. The loudspeaker is much more loud and clear than Moto E. The memory part is also good where you can save up to 32 GB of data with the microSD card. The battery backup is also fair, as the battery drain is quick when you play HD games.

Price

Micromax Unite 2 is available at a competitive price of Rs. 6999. As it is loaded with superior features, it is surely going to woo huge user base.
