Did you know that Google could have sold out to Excite? Did you also know that Google might be interested in the healthcare industry? If not, then check out here some revelations that Google founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin themselves made. Ranging from self-driving cars to robots, they talked about it all in their recent interviews. While both these men display different personalities, they find it important to remain associated with each other as couples do. They have been sharing a strong 16-year-old bond of working together on all their business ventures.

Google founders told about the way Google could be sold out. In its initial days, the company had a simple webpage search and ranking process. PageRank was the only technology they could rely upon. While Google founders showed all this to several search companies, nobody was interested in this venture. Excite was the only firm that showed some enthusiasm. However, Google was finally saved from being sold out to Excite, as the firm’s management did not believe in it. In the present scenario, Google has managed to become a leading search engine firm that is involved in a variety of other businesses.

In fact, Google is sometimes criticized for handling too much stuff. However, Larry Page completely justifies it by saying that a big company is worth it only when it can do several things together. Additionally, betting should be spread out as not every bet pays off. Thus, making big bets is what Sergey handles apart from the core business of Google.

Talking about their latest self-driving car project, Google founders explained that such cars and similar concepts could make the best use of resources like roads and parking spaces. Various similar transformations can lead to a better society. However, some existing systems require changes for implementing these ideas.

Further, Google founders revealed their intentions to explore the healthcare sector. Google has already come up with several health-related apps like Google Fit. However, they think that it is a highly regulated industry that is quite painful. Otherwise, health and medicine sectors have a great potential and scope for large businesses. Google has also launched a new company called Calico, which is biotech research firm concentrating on health and longevity. Larry Page believes that data also has good options in the healthcare field. It could be helpful to save lives if people’s medical records became easily searchable. However, there are governing laws that would not allow data mining at this level.

mobile computing

Although Google went on from desktop search to mobile computing and Android devices, its founders still feel that computers are not that efficient in the present times. Sergey Brin shared that the amount of knowledge computers provide in comparison to your time spent on it is still very bad. Thus, Google plans to solve this issue through its search and intelligent information delivery tools. This can help in accessing relevant information faster and more efficiently. Google aims at providing information to users when it is required so users do not have to ask for it.

Although Google has taken some initiatives for intelligent information delivery, it is also working on some bigger projects like the Al – Brain project. Google has taken inspiration from artificial intelligence in order to work on something that is focused on machine learning. Its ultimate aim is to design intelligent robots that can think and work better than humans do. This will make us work lesser and provide us more time to meet our basic needs. The society can be more productive and efficient with the help of robots.

Summary:

Google founders believe in working on multiple projects in varied areas. They share that Google might explore the healthcare industry while it has already started working on the concept of artificial intelligence so work burden on humans can be decreased.
