Smartphones have truly revolutionized the mobile communication industry with their amazing features, powerful applications and great designs. Both Apple and Samsung are ruling the market

In order to know more about the recent smartphone buying trend, the Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CRIP) carries out a survey every 4 months. Around 500 smartphone consumers, who have invested in a smartphone in last 3 months, are considered to take part in this survey. However, the results of 4 surveys, which were conducted over the period of July 2012 to June 2013 (4 consecutive quarters), revealed that both Apple and Samsung are ruling the industry with their own pros and cons.

Apple to grab major long-term benefits

Apple is one of the most reliable names when it comes to buying smartphones. The world-famous American multinational company also has a higher market share than its counterparts. But it does not ensure the success of Apple in long run as the enterprise is yet to come up with high-quality products with moderate prices.

Nonetheless, Apple is all set to experiment with its new strategy of launching more entry-level smartphones with the intention of getting the attention of the biggest section of the market as well as grabbing the major long-term benefits.

The deal between the Apple Inc. and the China Mobile Ltd. is also going to be a great game changer. Approximately 20 million China Mobile users are known to purchase iPhone and hack it against the system of the China Mobile. If the new deal becomes successful, China Mobiles will support the iPhone and Apple will win the market with 10 million long-term consumers.

Samsung still needs to go a long way

If compared with Apple, Samsung is yet to go a long way. Though the Korean technology giant has conquered a large part of the market, the CRIP survey reports have made it clear that the company is slightly lagging behind its rival.

When it comes to switching customers from the Android operating system to the iOS, Apple performs much better than Samsung. Around 20 percent of Apple consumers have shifted from Android, while the figure is only 7 percent for Samsung.

According to experts, it is Apple and not Samsung, which is most likely to reach a better position in the smartphone industry in coming days. On the other hand, Samsung should focus on developing its own network and improve its functionality in order to win the war.
