Very soon your dream of smoking in France may end in smoke because French government is going to bring out a law that will impede you from smoking in schools, offices and other public buildings. However, you may be allowed to smoke in most of the restaurants, dance clubs and some bars until you enter the year 2008.
However, if you cannot do without smoking, you may have to loosen the strings of your purse prodigally because in the words of Villepin:
Smokers who violate the ban will face fines of 75 euros ($95 at current exchange rates) while proprietors of buildings where the violations take place will be subject to twice that
Now, that’s really too much, but only time will tell how far it’s gonna help in killing the butt.
