Are you become angry easily and frequently? According to researchers of University of Pittsburgh anger can be because of genetic structure of your body especially in women. The research has been done on 550 European women, asking them to complete 2 anger tests. There anger level had been tested in certain situations.
“Aggression and hostility are predictors of hypertension, glucose metabolism and heart diseases,” stated the lead researcher Indrani Halder. The study reveals that higher anger and aggression could partly be genetic. The anger is governed by serotonin receptors on brain cells. Genetic variation can affect serotonin receptors that results in anger. Dr. James Grisolia, a neurologist at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego said, ‘Serotonin function within the brain has many effects, both in men and women.’
Serotonin plays a key role in sleep, emotional state and physical well-being.
Anxiety, depression or physical complaints such as insomnia, dizziness, or memory loss that respond to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors [SSRIs] that can cause anger.
