Walking 30 Minutes 3 Days a Week Lowers BP

A new research carried out at Queen’s University Belfast says that there is no need to go to the gym every day and pump iron in order to lose weight. Moderate, less frequent exercise can also reduce blood pressure and boost overall fitness, (published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health). In this study 106 people were divided into three groups. One group was put on a regimen of 30 minutes walk for 5days a week; another was asked to go for 30 minutes walk for 3days a week; and the remaining participants were asked to lead a normal life.

It is commonly suggested that strenuous exercise for 30 minutes at least 5 days a week is necesary for the adults. Most of us fail to meet this target. A gym in Kolkata suggested less of equipment use as you tend to gain faster than the speed at which you lose if you work on equipments. A gym in hyderabad suggests one should work out for one and half hour. The equipments should be used with short breaks in between. Whatever it is I have noticed that the zeal to attend gyms do not last long.

As mechanization has reduced the need for jobs which are physical labour intensive, we usually end up doing sedentary jobs. This type of work do not make us feel tired soon, we tend to overwork. When we are through with our asignmnets or whatever we find it is time to go home and engage in other household chores and then we are too tired to remain awake.
Lighter Regimens always helps because anything that is small seems achievable. So 30 minsutes of walk with flexible timings will always inspire people who want to lose weaight but do not have much time to do exercise for lonter time.
