Using sea salt as the weapon in your fight against acne

As soon as sea salt comes in contact with your skin, it creates hypertonic environment. A process called osmosis takes place, as sea salt makes water diffuse out of the acne bacteria. The bacteria die of dehydration, and he astringent property of sea salt contracts the skin and pushes out oil, bacteria and dead skin cells out of the skin pores and you get rid of your acne breakout.

You need hot water and sea salt for making this mask and you can choose one or two of these – mango, Aloe Vera, egg yolk, apple cider vinegar, melon, oatmeal, milk, pineapple, pear, peach, papaya, yogurt, grapes, dates, strawberry, rosewater, and figs. Apply the mask on a clean face and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse it off and apply a good moisturizer in the end.

Add 1 or 2 cups of sea salt to the water in your bathtub and soak in it for good 15 to 20 minutes. You can have a brisk shower in the end if you want.   • Sea salt scrub

To make this scrub, you need to mix half-cup honey, one-cup finely ground sea salt, 2 tablespoons Aloe Vera gel and a few drops of tea tree oil in a bowl. You can store the scrub in a jar with a lid for later use as well. Before applying it on your face, it would be better if you open up your skin pores by applying a hot towel or taking steam. Gently scrub your face with it and leave it as it is for a few minutes, and then wash it off and apply a nice skin moisturizer.
