U.S. notices a sudden decline in cancer deaths!

‘Cancer Statistics 2007’, which reports sudden fall in the death cases due to cancer in the U.S., is really welcoming. Things, which come out of this reports, unveil:-

1. Deaths due to this cancer fell by 1,110 in men and 1.094 in women.

2. Deaths due to colorectal cancer have been declining 2 per cent to 3 per cent each year.

3. Lung cancer deaths dropped in men by 333 while in women it has seen a hike by 347.

4. Breast cancer deaths declined by 666 cases.

5. About 219,000 new cases are expected in 2007, and 27,000 deaths.

These results definitely points to a good future. It seems people’s enhanced awareness about cancer, better medical facilities and the use of latest tools that are obviously more effective has been responsible for this decline in cancer cases, which is a good indication. However, revelation that death of women due to lung cancer has increased is quite deplorable. Another deplorable fact is that still there is supposition of 27,000 deaths due to cancer.
