The bed-wetting problem does not always go away with age

Age is no bar for the severe cases of nocturnal enuresis i.e. bed-wetting. Half of the teens, aged 19 years wet the bed almost every night. Researchers of the Prince of Wales Hospital and Chinese University together concluded the research on it. The urology journal BJUI International has published this study.

The study advises parents should go to medical treatment for the children who wet the bed. Bed-wetting can be genetic or because of hormonal insufficiency, sickness or physical abnormalities. Boys generally experience the problem more than girls do.

The American Academy of Family Physicians says that drinking too much water before the time of sleep does not cause bed-wetting. Some medical experts suggest therapies such as setting alarms during the night, bladder training and medications to get rid of this problem.
