High level of steroids, that derive from testosterone in male, usually converts into oestrogen and men develop breasts. A survey says that twenty-two percent bodybuilders take tamoxifen, a cancer drug, to counter the act of extra steroid in body.
Researchers have warned that the gym-goers may be at a risk of swelling muscles. The Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine has published the detail of the report.
Dr Kat Arney, cancer information officer at Cancer Research UK, says,
Tamoxifen is an efficient drug to treat breast cancer. It should not be taken without medical direction. The bodybuilders who take it to make body images are posing themselves at higher health risks.
